Either have or acquire the talent. If you really have a strong desire to be a part of the entertainment industry, let alone become a global artist then you must, somehow, have talent. There is no faking the funk. Sure there are those with rich parents or who have been bequeathed a kings ransom by their beneficent grandmother or grandfather, who feebly set out on adventure to make it as a star. But, for some reason it almost never happens. Maybe it's because their heart is not in the right place and they really have not talent. Save for the rich siblings, relatives or children of all ready established super talented, you'd better have some skills.

For the us regular folk we are destined to have to take the long road, unless we are fortunate enough to be "in the right place at the right time". Makes for great Hollywood tales but how many struggling performers does this ever happen to? Not many, I can assure you. A very small percentage who set out on a voyage to become a "star" ever reach this lofty perch, yet many still try their heart out and give their all and whatever it takes to achieve their dream. Frankly, I don't blame you. If you make it...

Talent: You can be born with it (or not) or you can acquire it through hard work and perseverance. For those who are born with it, in order to compete, you must refine it. If you were not, then you have to acquire it. Let's talk briefly about refining talent. By the way, this section of our site will be dedicated to helping artists with various steps of development in a fleeting performing arts career.

No matter how much talent you think you have or that your family and friends heap praise on you about, the fact is, as a professional you will need to fine tune and refine your craft, distill it like a fine wine, then you will be ready to present it and start making a living from it.
